高垂琮說，他跟寶春師傅都向蔡英文提到，台灣的農產品非常好，但農民很辛苦，相對收益不高，像之前還有菜蟲問題，如果跟烘焙師傅合作，也可提升台灣農產品的附加價值，甚至推廣到國外，希望總統能夠幫忙，協調各相關部會。

總統府發言人黃重諺說，高垂琮等人也在會面時邀請蔡英文參加明年的國家烘焙展覽會，蔡開玩笑地回應，她可以去，但是一定要請她吃好吃的麵包才能吸引她去。

蔡英文也認為，她有吃過米做的麵包，味道很好。台灣種植稻米，可以發展出台灣的米食特色，米麵包就是很好的例子。台灣在地的農業食材若能發揮在地的特色，對產業也會很有幫助。
